North Dyno 2012 Lightwind Kite Preview at S2AS

The new series of North kites is really impressive. North team took its time and improved every single model of kite to make sure it offers ultimate reliability and performance. The Dyno is North’s lightwind machine. It is available in 16 and 18 square meters sizes and it seems huge at the first glance, but this awesome kite will get you running in the lightest wind breeze. It offers a unique blend of park and dynamic power and it always offers a smooth flight. Although it is a large kite, the Dyno feels very agile once it is launched and starts flying.

Light wind conditions tend to keep kiteboarders off water. This won’t happen if you have the new 2012 North Dyno with you. This kite is especially designed to face the lightest wind conditions and get you going pretty fast. The Dyno is engineered with special focus on weight reduction. That is why the classic North Lazy Pump system has been eliminated and the inflatable elements have been built using thinner bladder material and lighter Dacron.

North also added two extra segments between the quarter ribs, to create an improved aerofoil surface in the center lifting area and assure a smoother flight in very light winds. A great thing about the Dyno is that it can be used with four or five lines, depending on the rider’s choice. The loaded 5th line generates a direct bar feel, assures reactive steering and provides instant depower when needed.

The Dyno uses the Relaunch Bungees System which assures fast and easy relaunch and prevents the lines from tangling. At the same time, the low profile batten pockets and the thin strut ends prevent the lines from snagging during relaunch. Although the Dyno is quite a large kite, it offers accurate steering and turns quickly. It is easy to control, depower and steer in light winds and it feels reliable even if wind starts to pick up a bit.

A nice thing about the Dyno is that it offers excellent hangtime and it is really easy to use due to the sheet and go concept. If you want to go out and enjoy a nice kiteboarding session, even if the winds seem to be against you or they are pretty much absent, the North Dyno is the perfect kite for you. It really laughs at lightwind conditions and flies great.
