2012 Second Generation Wainman Rabbits!

Hot off the press for the bank holiday weekend! First sightings and news of the 2012 Wainman Hawaii range of popular Rabbits!


"We are excited to announce the long awaited and highly anticipated official premiere of 2^nd generation of Rabbit Gang series kites. Wainman Hawaii will be attending the Surf Expo in Orlando, Florida (September 8-10, 2011) where we will be unveiling the all-new and improved kite line. It was decided to wait and use the Orlando Surf Expo for the premiere as the atmosphere of this show is unparalleled and 3 years ago we presented the first series of Rabbit kites there, which served us all very well to date.

Together with the kites, we will also showcase the new redesigned bar system featuring the innovative safety system. We cordially invite all our partners to the Surf Expo and look forward to live meetings with all of you. For those who will not be able to make it, we are including a few teaser preview shots of the new product to hold you over and keep you informed on the new designs. More information will be published shortly after the official premiere, together with the detailed shots of new product and the corresponding technical material.

The first delivery of the new product will be available for sale by the end of September. We will be providing you with a price list and pre-book programs very shortly and as there is a huge demand for the new Rabbits, it is essential that you place your order for new Rabbits to ensure first delivery.

New Brighton Team Member: Ant Dancalfe

We just wanted to share the great news about our newest adiition to the S2AS team:
Ant Duncalfe.

Ant will be working in the Brighton Store and is the go to guy for any snowboarding or wakeboarding questions or tips! Below is a little word from the man himself:

"I have just moved back to my homeland of the UK having been away for 5 years doing summer and winter season’s back to back taking advantage of every extreme sport under the sun. I’ve been a keen snowboarder since my first season in Kitzbuhel, Austria and my passion, knowledge and skill have being growing ever since. I have shred seasons in Austria and France and am now excited to see what the UK’s snow scene has to offer!

On the summer side I have been a Windsurf and Wakeboard/Ski Instructor in places such as Dahab, Egypt and Ortakent, Turkey. My passion for snowboarding helped me progress into wakeboarding and has given me the buzz for the sport. Give me a board in any conditions on any surface and I am happy to be involved. Kitesurfing is my next project and I am so stoked to be a part of this scene due to how freestyle orientated and technical this sport is.

So I’m a freestyle, board loving, give anything ago guy who can’t wait to start this winter season with S2AS and get involved with the UK scene.

Finally... we've finished the Symbian.

Here's Darren on the story behind this new freeride deck:

"OK... So there are a lot of boards this shape on the market... And we have ridden most of them. We have spent what seemed like years prototyping shapes and concaves until we got to a point where everything felt proportioned and correct."

"The Rocker concave is by no means the deepest on the market but we feel that there is a limit to how functional a deep concave can be and the same applies to rocker, too much can spoil the performance of your ride."

"The Symbian, we feel is a perfect combination of Rocker and Concave to lock you in. Kicked nose and tail add extra functionality also. The 9 ply Canadian Maple construction offers a great combination of stiffness and dead flex for a freeride board of this genre."

S2AS Summer Party Event Run-Down!

Its always hard to put into words such a fantastic event and evening! and its even harder when you raise over £4000 for a worthy charity!

The Surface 2 Air Sports Summer Party 2011 was held in Sandbanks, Poole and had an impressive turnout of over 200 guests, many being friends of S2AS and the Poole Kitesurf Club!

The night kicked off with sunshine and a BBQ as the drinks started to flow casually, it wasnt too long before Jazzys cafe was packed with people and the auctions began! For those not aware the whole event was to aid the Macmillan Cancer Research charity, who not only work to defeat the disease but also greatly help those affected by it. There are a few key people in the Poole Kitesurf Club recently effected by this disease and raising this amount of money for the charity is a huge step forward!

There were a great variety of items for auction including:

- Directional waveboard with custom Poole Harbour hand painted artwork
- North kiteboard Footstraps
- Super limited edition Trole Industries framed Artboard
- Axxon Kiteboard
- Clothing
- Kitesurf Tuituon
- Longboard
- Even our very own S2AS Staff!

All together we managed to raise over £4000 through the auction which was a great success!

After the auction the band Southwest Life started playing and succeeded to get the crowd going with classic rock and pop anthems!

Shortly followed by the Petebox, the vocal and technical genius who really raised the roof and got people moving with no gimmicks just raw talent! Check out his site or any of his youtube videos to catch this guy!
A huge thankyou to all who attended to make the night so special! And an even bigger thankyou to those who bid and donated their money to a good cause! A special shoutout for the Poole Kitesurf Club and Trole Industries for their epic support!
